The band banquet will be held on May 25th at the
Embassy Suites
Orlando North in Altamonte
Springs. The doors open up at 6:00PM. The tickets are $15 per person. Seniors have
free admission.
The ticket forms went home with students April 30th. The forms and
admission fee must be received by May 16th.
Seniors, you will still need to fill out a form so a place is held for you.

SHS PERCUSSION AUDITIONS
The SHS
Percussion Audition process is three weeks long and done in the
conventional drumline setting. You are encouraged to audition on as
many instruments as you want and will be given feedback and guidance
throughout the audition process to further guide your practicing.
MEMORIZATION of the music,
while not required, is a very good way to make a good impression.
Marking time to all music is a must (Quarter note pulse with the
feet, Left foot on 1 and 3, Right foot on 2 and 4). Results will be
posted shortly after the final audition day. Do not hesitate

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
Although
the school year will be wrapping up before you know it, we still
have lots going on! We are currently in need of volunteers for
various tasks both big and small. Committees are being formed
to start planning and preparation for next school-year’s Golf
Tournament and Wine Tasting Event as well as our upcoming
Spaghetti Dinner on May 10th.
Some
volunteer opportunities are:
Golf Tournament
Committee: help with 2012-2013 Golf Tournament by
soliciting hole sponsors, obtain giveaway prizes, and gather
four-somes to play golf, etc.
Wine Tasting Committee:
help with the 2012-2013 Wine Tasting Event
Quarter Days Volunteer:
We need a volunteer who can simply make phone calls to local
businesses to schedule dates for our students to play at their
locations.

There are new quarter day events scheduled! We need parent
volunteers as well for each event. Please email

Saturday - April 28th 10-2, 2-6
Saturday - May 5th 10-2, 2-6

Full Band Photo Now Available
The Full Band Photo, shown above in
the web header, is now available for purchase. The sizes
and finish options have changed, so please visit the Fundraiser
page for complete details, or to order your full band pictures, print this
and fill out completely the order form. Place in an
envelope along with your payment and put in the lockbox in the band room. Cash, checks or PayPal available.

GLAMOUR SHOTS
So what is a Glamour Shot? It's a portrait of
your student (in uniform and with their instrument), superimposed in
front of the whole band. Glamour Shots is a fundraiser for the
BPA, but more than that, these portraits are treasures for students,
parents, grandparents and others. They are reasonably priced and
professionally printed.
